What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi is a gentle form of exercise that can help maintain strength, flexibility, and balance, and could be the perfect activity for the rest of your life. Tai chi is often described as “meditation in motion,” but it might well be called “medication in motion.” There is growing evidence that this mind-body practice, which originated in China as a martial art, has value in treating or preventing many health problems. — Harvard Medical School, Edited August 2019

Who We Are

The United States Tai Chi Community is a registered 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization formed with the initial intent to support safe and effective tai chi programs for health improvement that are accessible to all. Our focus includes professional development, a robust webpage, support of Dr. Paul Lam’s Annual USA Workshop, and research support. Our website is an invaluable resource full of teaching tools, networking options, workshop discounts, research studies, professional development resources, and most importantly, scholarship opportunities for annual US Weeklong Workshops.
