Tai Chi for Arthritis in the Autumn
September 22 @ 11:30 AM - November 3 @ 12:30 PM CDT$49 – $61
In this seven-week beginner’s class in a beautiful studio space overlooking the Tualatin River, participants will learn a combination of Tai Chi forms that are graceful, powerful, and easy on the joints. Classes are on Fridays, Sept. 22-Nov. 3., 11:30 a.m. -12:30 PM. The combination is called “Tai Chi For Arthritis,” but don’t let the name fool you – whether or not you have arthritis, these mindful movements are excellent for anyone wanting to cultivate balance, energy, core strength, and increased focus.
For those interested in an intermediate Tai Chi for Arthritis class, I will also be offering an intermediate class on the same days from 12:30-1:30 PM.
Each class includes warmups, the introduction or review of a movement, practice of what we have learned, and cooldowns. We’ll also explore fundamental Tai Chi principles. By the end of the class, you will have learned and practiced a full combination of movements on both sides. The class is primarily geared toward participants 55+ years of age.
Preregistration is required, and the easiest way is to call the Juanita Pohl Center at 503-691-3061 . The cost for the series is $49 for Tualatin Residents/$61 for Non-residents. Even though registration is through the center, if you have any questions about the class please feel free to contact me (Ruth)directly either by PM through Nextdoor, or by telephone at 503-927-5714.
I hope to meet you for some flowing movement in September!
